Active Manuka Honey (also known as Healing Honey) is only produced in New Zealand.
The New Zealand beekeepers position their hives in wild uncultivated areas close to the wild Manuka bushes. New Zealand is the only place in the world that the Manuka bush is found. Due to the positioning of the bee hives, the bees gather nectar from the flowers of the wild Manuka bush.
The honey making process is enriched by the pollution free environment of New Zealand. Whilst the Manuka Bush is native to New Zealand, it is part of the same species as the Kanuka Bush, Australian Tea Tree and Jellybush all of which been widely known for their unique health benefits for generations of local indigenous people including the Maori and Aboriginal tribes peoples.
The Active Manuka honey has been found to help skin conditions such as acne and eczema.
